{saving-money-tips-stacks-of-dollars-cash.jpg} The Marcellus shale is significant to Pa because it’s is a real economic boost. Hundreds are being made in Pa because of the Marcellus shale. If all the gas is collected it could be worth 2 trillion dollars. This could mean a big boost in Pa economy. People all over Pa are being employed.

{well%20drilling2.jpg} Negative effects of the Marcellus shale is forest where people hunt, fish, and hike are now being covered in natural gas wells. Also the Marcellus shale drilling and putting chemicals in it and fracturing methane is going into people’s water supplies. The Marcellus shale has spilled tons of chemicals into forests and streams. The good things out of this are thousands of jobs are being made in Pa. People all over Pa are being offered money so the gas company can drill for gas on their property. If all of the gas can be safely removed Pennsylvania could make a lot of money.

Ways that the Marcellus shale can be good for Central Pa is we use the natural gas to power our homes because natural gas is less polluting then electricity. Also these could also you could be cheaper then electricity. One economic good why is it gets people employed. It could also get you get a little extra money if there’s natural gas on your back yard or farm.

Fracturing is a technique used by the oil and gas industry to get natural gas and oil to flow through the rocks in which it’s trapped to the well head. The process involves pumping millions of gallons of water, tens of thousands of gallons of chemicals, and sand for each fracking project under high pressure into the ground. This process fractures the oil or gas bearing rocks to allow the gas or oil to flow. People think the natural gas companies should tell the people what chemicals they use.
